Lymph node madness

Three weeks ago I noticed that one of my lymph nodes was hard and I could feel it. I went to the Dr. and she checked me out and said I had a throat infection. She gave me a round of antibiotics that lasted 6 days. After finishing those, I went back in to get my blood work done. After getting blood drawn, I asked the nurse if my lymph node should still be hard. She couldn't tell me anything and asked me to make an appointment to see the Dr. Later that day, I went back and she put me on another round of antibiotics, specific to my throat area. She also recommended that I got see an ear, nose and throat Dr. to see if there is any light he could shed on the situation. I went to see him last week. He told me the antibiotic my Dr. gave me was the right one but he wanted me to do an MRI. He wanted to get a picture of the lymph node since he couldn't tell what it was by just feeling it. I went in Monday morning and did the MRI. Yesterday, I went to see my regular Dr. to get the lab results. Everything there came back normal. Today, I got a call from the ear, nose, and throat Dr. office. They could not tell based on the MRI what was in my lymph node. There is a mass there. It is not consistent with cysts. They are not sure if it is something that my lymph node is doing or if it is something completely different. So, now I have to go in for a biopsy. It's going to be a needle biopsy where they will get the fluid in the lymph node as well as a piece of the mass.

It's scary, yes. I don't know what is going on with my body. Overall, I'm ok. My mind wanders and I get scared, but I just have to remind myself it is nothing. I can't worry about it before I know what it is. I just wanted to write a post to let everyone know what was going on.
